ESSAY REVIEW (THEME: EDUCATION)

🍓 Topic: Most countries spend lots of money on education as they start to recognise its importance. In your opinion, which two of the following subjects are the most important for your people and which one is the least important?
Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Music, Physical Education, Economics, History, Geography

🍓 Response:

It has been said that investing in education is investing in one's future and this is true for both individuals and nations. It is always somewhat objective to say which is more important: the humanities or sciences as both have value. However, I would like to make a case for the importance of maths and economics in this day and age.

Let us begin with Maths. Mathematics is a foundation subject which bridges many different fields, from physics and chemistry to the Internet and modern medicine. All of our material advances in the 20th century could not have happened without advanced Mathematics. To be sure, it will also play a critical role in meeting challenges like global warming and space travel, to name just a few, in the future.

Likewise, economics is a fundamental discipline that allows societies to be stable and move forward. History is full of examples of kingdoms and empires that collapsed as their economics declined. Most obviously, we need to look no further than the current economic meltdown to see the importance of economics. The jobs and well-being of individuals and natios alike depend upon a depper understanding of this field.

While all subjects have their merits, perhaps geography does not have the same importance it once did. After all, in our modern world, we have 3D maps online, which allows us to see anywhere with the click of a mouse.

To summarize, maths and economics are critical subjects in the 21st century. Governments must do their part to invest in these key areas and have qualified teachers.

But noticeably, they need a balanced approach to education where they still produce artists, thinkers, historians, politicians, and so on. By doing so, they will

ensure their people's prosperity and progress.

👑 Đây là dạng đề ít gặp và tương đối lạ với nhiều thí sinh. Chúng ta được dạy là môn học nào cũng đều quan trọng và cần thiết đối với con người. Nhưng đề thi này lại yêu cầu thí sinh đưa ra ý kiến cực đoan: môn học nào quan trọng nhất và môn học nào kém quan trọng nhất (trong số các môn được liệt kê). Giải thích vì sao hai môn học nào đó quan trọng thì không khó, nhưng để giải thích một môn học ít quan trọng nhất là điều không dễ dàng.

👑 Quan điểm của người viết: Toán học và kinh tế là hai môn quan trọng nhất; địa lý là môn kém quan trọng nhất.

👑 Điểm mạnh:
- Cấu trúc câu rõ ràng, có bao gồm cả câu đơn, câu ghép và câu phức.
- Dùng từ chính xác.
- Đưa ví dụ ngắn gọn mà chính xác, thú vị.

Điểm yếu:
- Câu thesis statement nêu thiếu ý "Môn Địa lí ít quan trọng nhất"
- Không cân bằng giữa bố cục thân bài (đoạn viết về môn kém quan trọng - Địa lí - quá ngắn và giải thích quá sơ sài).
